My Journey

My name is Colleen Stadlwieser and I am a birth keeper, truth seeker and yoga guide. I help pre- and post-birth people navigating the perinatal time to tune into their inherent wisdom by integrating reflection, mindfulness and yoga in their lives. My wish for my clients is that they build resilience and confidence as they prepare to welcome their babies Earth side, while trusting their own parental intuition, so that they can thrive.

Sometimes the journey to beginning our families does not go as planned and in my life this has been true. I have had four miscarriages, two live births, thirteen years of infertility, and of the two adoptions I have applied for, one resulted in a child who is part of our family. Getting pregnant, being pregnant, giving birth and raising children was not an easy path for me, my body, my emotions or my mental health and I needed to grow in ways that I did not imagine. Yoga has helped me to overcome many hardships, and the many gifts that yoga has given me are what I wish to share with the families that I work with. Loving Yoga has helped me to Love my Body, Love my Baby, and Love my Self.

Core Values

-I welcome all birthing people and their families so that they can embrace the journey of pregnancy, birth and postpartum without judgement regardless of ethnicity, religious or sexual orientation, or cultural background.

-I embody patience and trust in every body and birthing person while holding space for them to open and expand through birth’s transformation.

-I continue to educate myself with evidence based resources so that I can help the families I work with make informed choices.

-I support self-advocacy and advocacy for those whose voices are not heard by modelling clear and concise communication skills.

-I offer yoga as an opportunity for growth to women and people who identify with women's physical experiences to restore their emotional, physical and mental well-being.

-I am generous with my skills and provide compassionate service to those whom I serve.

-I embrace unexpected changes that may come with birth and commit to trauma informed care while supporting women nd birthing people through present and previous transitions.

-I hold space for the growth that life's journey offers.

My Promise

Yoga asks us to embrace our authentic selves and live in our truth daily. Teaching yoga is a gift that I wish to offer those on the path towards self awareness. My goal is to help you connect with your inherent wisdom wherever you are in life's journey.

Love Your Body. Love Your Self. Love Yoga.

Birth can be an empowering and life changing event that can make families stronger and heal society. My promise is to nourish expectant parents by awakening them to their inner wisdom, power and intuition as birth givers while bearing witness to the sacredness of their journey from pregnancy to postpartum. Yoga can help the body and mind navigate the many changes of pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

Love your Body. Love your Baby. Love your Self.

My Experience and Training

In order to support the families I work with, I have trained as a Birth Doula with several different organizations. My doula training includes Doulas of North America (DONA),

Motherwit Doulas, The Matrona, and Hypnobabies.

Furthermore, I am an accredited La Leche League leader

I am a Yoga Alliance 200-RYT teacher. I completed my training with Yogalife in Edmonton when my baby was four to eleven months old. I completed my prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher training with Mamata yoga in Edmonton. I know how essential the right movements are to sustaining health in pregnancy and healing the postpartum body following birth and was able to integrate yoga in my own postpartum recovery. Yoga can help strengthen the body, improve emotional well-being, and bring calm when things don't go as planned- particularly when preparing for pregnancy, pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

I offer postnatal, prenatal, couples and regular hatha yoga classes online and in person.
